My 'sense of place'

The area around my home provides me most with a ‘sense of place’. It features water and a variety of plant species. There is a wide range of birds that live near by. Geckos, rabbits, otters and an occasional alligator roam the premises. I enjoy the fact that we have neighbors in very close proximity to us.  Our neighbors are extremely kind and generous. We all look out for one another and enjoy interacting. Our complex is composed of, typical Floridian style, two-story condominiums that are surrounded by lush vegetation. Lovely palm trees and brightly colored flowers surround my neighborhood. My community offers a clubhouse, gym, tennis court and 3 pools that provide opportunities for exercise and relaxation. I feel lucky to call Huntington Lakes my home.

The sense of place I find in Huntington Lakes provides me with a sense of peace, serenity and familiarity. I especially enjoy the sounds of birds chirping throughout the morning. Sliding my lanai door open and looking out over the lake listening to the sound of the fountain is quite calming.  Walking throughout the complex, I am amused by the rabbits hopping through the grass and the variety of dogs that many people are walking. The vivid colors of the flowers and vegetation always lift my spirits. There are many benefits to living in Huntington Lakes and I’m blessed to live in a community that has so much to offer.

I open this door everyday for fresh air! I also love the sound of the fountain.
